Country music icons George Strait, Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack have been tearing up arena stages across the country lately as they tour through the States in support of the co-headlining tour led by McEntire and Strait. The strong country connection has kept the sets generous and the tunes twangy, making Reba McEntire tickets best sellers online as she wrangles through some more dates this March. Make sure to be part of the action as this fiery red head continues to plow through cities like Memphis, New Orleans, Portland, Tacoma, and Des Moines through early April.
In support of Strait's 26th studio set Twang, the veteran cowboy teamed up with fellow country icon McEntire for a U.S. tour unlike any other. Jetting out for an 18-city arena tour, the pair welcomes Womack as an opening act and fellow country star. McEntire is currently in support of her August studio release Keep on Loving You, her most prolific album release of her career as it debuted at the top of Billboard 200 charts.
McEntire had been touring behind her summer release since last spring, hitting several Canadian venues as well as festival performances like Indio's Stagecoach event. This summer remains up in the air for the Favorite Female Country Artist with the most nominations. She welcomed this year's award ceremonies with her 23rd career nomination.
While Strait's success is unprecedented, McEntire can pull her own weight in their tour of unparalleled proportions. Her latest hit single "Consider Me Gone" has gone onto achieve platinum success as the longest-running number one single of her career, and McEntire brings the classic country of yesteryear in with today's commercial hits of Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.
A native of Oklahoma, McEntire has sold over 55 million albums, of which the last 13 have received platinum status. She has won two Grammy Awards and been recognized not only for her exceptional talent in the country music industry but also for her work in film, television and Broadway. She ruled the charts through most of the '80s and '90s, earning herself a dozen albums that went beyond simply platinum status to four, quadruple and quintuple platinum times.
McEntire was born in 1955 in McAlester, Okla. and was raised on good Southern values and serious singing - her younger singer went on to become a gospel singer while her older brother also went into country music. At an early age McEntire joined her siblings in the Kiowa High School Cowboy Band while also appearing solo in local talent shows. Though she remained focused on school, McEntire started recording tunes with Mercury and eventually turned to music full time after graduating from Oklahoma State University early.
She released the debut set Reba McEntire in 1977, the same year she debuted at the Grand Ole Opry. Though she hadn't yet been very successful, it came her time in 1980 when her third release Feel the Fire finally peaked in the Top 10. The rest, as they say, is history.
