Looks like Carrie Underwood won't be planning a summer wedding after all (she recently got engaged to Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher), as she's recently extended her Play On Tour to includ dates that run through the end of June. The already extensive tour, which now consists of 54 dates, is set to begin mid-March and will be the first time the former American Idol will tour the country since her 2008 Carnival Ride Tour.

The last time around, Underwood trekked through the States for over 100 dates and 1.2 million fans, so you know things aren't finished yet in support of Play On. Get Carrie Underwood tickets online today.

Opening up her act in Reading, Pa. at the Sovereign Center March 11, Underwood is set to close up the tour June 20th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; with these additional dates she is sure to see more support than ever before. With a surge in album sales since her Grammy win during the 2010 awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Underwood's new set sees promotion in all sorts of areas - including the children's television program Sesame Street, where she acts as "Carrie Underworm."

The recent Grammy Award winner, who picked up the Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for her duet "I Told You So" with Randy Travis, has seen her take home many accolades since American Idol - including three Best Female Country Vocal Performance shrines from the Grammys.

Underwood released Play On in November 2009 and showcased her songwriting abilities prominently for the first time. Her third set with Arista Nashville, Underwood remains the best-selling American Idol alum and she continues to reveal hidden talents in her expanding career. The most recently released single "Temporary Home" is said to have been inspired by her future-husband and helped keep her chart-topping album afloat as it made the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 100 Airplay.

Penning more tunes than ever before, Underwood revealed that Play On was the most revealing album she has produced to date. Debuting at number one, Play On was the best selling album of 2009 for a solo female artist as it generated her top career sales.

Though she's sold over 11 million albums, Carrie Underwood is still the small-town country girl fans fell in love with during her season of American Idol. Raised on a farm milking cows, Underwood has come a long way since her days in Checotah, Okla. - and she knows all too well how much she's gained since the Fox reality television series presented her with the crown.

Though she found success almost immediately with her debut album, it wasn't until she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry that Underwood felt she was truly apart of the country music genre. A prestigious award, the vocalist had been a fan of the Grand Ole Opry since she was a young girl and couldn't have been more surprised when her own idol, Randy Travis, announced her induction.

"The induction award they gave me says, 'Hey, you're a part of the family,'" she said on her website. "It means a lot to me because it's the heart of country music, the church, the sacred place, the super-elite club that says you love this music." Since she has done much more to make her new "family" proud, including adding new dates to her Play On Tour.
