After a stellar performance at Bonnaroo and a late June performance in the UK, Kings of Leon return to the States in early July for a North American tour. Just in time, too, as the Followill brothers have been performing new singles all over the world and American fans are getting anxious to hear them back home. The first sneak peak was during June's Atlantic City show, which kicked off the 31-date summer tour (though there are just two dates in June).

"You don't know these songs," Caleb Followill said to the crowd in New Jersey, "but one day you will." The new singles played sporadically over the evening were "yet untitled, unreleased" tracks that felt akin to 2008's breakout album Only by the Night. If you're fans of Kings of Leon today, you're sure to love buying Kings of Leon tickets online for tomorrow.

The group is expected to keep playing these unnamed releases through the remainder of summer, as they hit up cities like San Diego, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Denver and others. Supported by the Black Keys, the Drums, the Whigs and the Features, the Nashville based outfit will stay on the road through September.

The group opened up small at New Jersey's Borgata and finished June strong with a headlining show in front of 10,000 fans. "You don't want to start the tour out with Bonnaroo," Jared Followill said to PhillBurb.com. "Whenever we write a song, we like to play it. But now that we've had the success of the last album people want there to be this mystery about what's coming next."

It was just six years ago that the group came out of Nashville's music scene, and two since the breakthrough hit "Sex on Fire" made them superstars. So sticking to what they know best suits the quartet made up of three Followill brothers and a cousin. "We want to enjoy the concert as much as everyone else, and for us to go out there and play 'Molly's Chambers' and 'Sex on Fire' and stuff that we played so many times, that is not going to get us as excited as seeing their faces when we debut a new song," Jared continued with PhillBurbs website.

The group members all have a Christian music background and ultimately they found success as a rock tribute band that released three albums. Their third album Of the Times was a middling hit that garnered Rolling Stone to write in 2007, "How good can the Kings of Leon get? They've already gone further than anybody could have guessed."

No doubt the RS team is biting their tongue, as Kings of Leon's fourth set Only by the Night went on to top international charts. Every kid seems to know the lyrics to "Sex on Fire" as the album went on to pick up a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. So if these rock stars want to play a new song or two during headlining shows, chances are fans aren't going to complain.
