As part of the Blue Collar Comedy team, Jeff Foxworthy and his crew of redneck misfits will join CMT's Big New Comedy Week in early March. Along with the trio of comedians, the comedy program will introduce newcomer Melissa Peterson in her first standup comedy special. The comedy hours will reunite Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy as they film Blue Collar Comedy: Ten Years of Funny, set to air March 13 in front of a live audience at the country music capital Nashville.
At the event hosted by Jaime Pressly, the men will relive some of their most memorable moments from their Blue Collar days as they improvise just like old times. Have you been eager to see these characters onstage together again? Pick up Jeff Foxworthy tickets online today.
If you plan on laughing with the whole crew during the comedy week of March, don't just limit yourself to one Blue Collar event - attend them all as the Blue Collar Comedy Tour should be equally as humorous when the men's 2002 tour airs on the silver screen March 8. Recorded during the summer of 2002, the good ol' boys of Blue Collar Comedy - Foxworthy, Engvall, Larry and Ron White - show off their film and behind the scenes footage from the Phoenix Dodge Theater performance.
In honor of their 10th anniversary together, CMT and the Blue Collar Comedy stars are connecting as they celebrate some of their greatest laughs. Specials are set to air during the week of March 13th before a finale that introduces the entire CMT Big New Comedy Troupe.
A respected comedian, Jeff Foxworthy remains one of the most successful comedians in history, as he has seen record album sales, a handful of Grammy Award nominations and is an acclaimed author to more than 11 books. Though he might be best-known for his flair for redneck jokes, Foxworthy has likewise earned a living on his family-oriented hits that have earned him comparisons to Mark Twain. As one of the creators of the Blue Collar Television, an output of the successful Blue Collar Comedy Tour, the movie and concert tour, Foxworthy knows when he's struck gold.
Born in 1958 in Atlanta, Ga., Foxworthy started out as a comedian not because of an absolute passion but as part of a game. Given a dare to try standup, Foxworthy eventually fell into a suitable rhythm that allowed him to quit his job and pursue comedy full time. While his family-based jokes were hits, his jabs at Southern rednecks earned him international attention and allowed his Laughing Hyena release You Might be a Redneck If...to catapult to serious success.
Two years after its release the set began climbing up Billboard's country album charts and ended up giving Foxworthy a multi-platinum seller. In addition to the success of his albums - the third installment Games Rednecks Play sold over two million copies - Foxworthy played his cards as producer, writer and actor. He debuted Blue Collar TV in 2004, a series he created for the WB, and continued his comedy collaborations.
