The Interesting Reasons Why Toyota Dealers Are So Successful

According to JD Power and Associates, 63 percent of people who buy their vehicles will only buy Toyotas, regardless of the other options available to them. They also claim that the three primary reasons that a customer buys a car from a particular Toyota dealer are price, location and vehicle selection.

So, the question then becomes how these Toyota dealers manage to get such a loyal following on such a regular basis.

Treatment is one of the biggest reasons and can generally be regarded with two words, straightforward pricing. Potential customers want to get the information that they asked for in a timely manner. If a customer wants to see the payment plan and the interest rate, for example, the dealer will guarantee that they get it. If the customer wants to know how much money they will receive for their trade, the dealer will just show them. It is this attention to the customers desires that can drive the customer to purchase the car after car from the same Toyota dealer throughout the time that the use a car.

An issue that bothers customers is high-pressure salesman, as there is a thin line between trying to close a sale and just being downright pushy. Plenty of dealers have blown deals by trying too hard, but it is generally considered by the survey by JD Power and Associates that Toyota salesman try to be as aware as possible of their customers feelings, respecting them in all aspects.

A reason that was not listed by JD Power and Associates for Toyotas recurring sales is honesty, as dishonesty, unfortunately, is rampant in the automotive industry. Customers do not want to deal with dishonest salesman and it is becoming more and more apparent, thanks to the internet, that customers already know the answers to their questions but they still continue to ask the salesman the questions to gauge their honesty on their answers. For any car salesman readers, if you do not know the answer, simply say so; customers will respect you a lot more.

One aspect in particular that Toyota dealers seem to have got right is the length of time that it takes to complete a deal. It is estimated that it takes most dealers around three hours to finalise a sale, but the customers of Toyota must have a quicker process due to their satisfaction.

It is not known exactly why the deals take shorter, but it is expected that it is because there is less negotiation that takes place. If a dealer comes in with a great price to start with, the customer is less likely to want to negotiate a lot, meaning that the sale can be completed quickly.

Despite all of the negative aspects of car buying, there are many positive aspects, particularly with Toyota dealers, with 44 percent of the customers that purchase a Toyota from a dealership coming back again when it is time to buy another one. This is something that is not found widely in the industry and shows the professionalism and quality of both Toyota dealers and the vehicles.
