One of the chores that many kids hate in life is that of dusting. Everyone can all relate to the dusting chore. It is amazing that so much dust can collect on all of those little knick knacks and the TV and the other things that are in the home. However, have you ever stopped to think about how all of the dust gets on there and how much of that is getting into the lungs of you and your children.
It is an interesting thought to think about all of the dust that floats around in the home and how that may impact the health of you and your family. It is even more interesting to consider how reduce the amount of dust in the home.
One way to control the dust in the home is through the filter in the furnace. The better the filter in the furnace the more dust that can collect on it and not spread through the ventilation system. Many people assume that they are asked to replace filters for the sake of the filter and this is true. However, the main purpose of changing a filter is to make the furnace more efficient and to make the dust collection better so that it is not spread through the home.
There has recently been some filters made that are a lot higher caliber filter. They do a much better job of stopping and collecting dust as well as lasting a lot longer than the old filter style.
The new style filter works better because it is electrically charged by friction. This is much the same concept as rubbing a balloon on your head. A balloon will stick to a wall or ceiling after rubbing it on your head because of the electrical charge that was created. The filter is electrically charged by the friction of the air movement through it and then the dust particles stick to it because of the electrical charge.
One of the best parts of filters made in this way is that they are lifetime filters. They should never need to be replaced because they can be hosed out or vacuumed out every one to three months and returned back to the furnace. This makes it a lot less expensive filter in the long run and one that is a lot more likely to be maintained because there is no need to buy a new one.
