When recessions hit, people panic about the thought of losing their jobs. When this last recession hit, a lot of people around the country lost their jobs just because there wasn't any place for them at the time. Having a job that is secure at all times, no matter what sort of mess the economy is in is definitely something that is beneficial and rewarding. If you were one of those people who had a scare to lose your job during the recession, you might want to consider switching your fields of study. Here are some of the jobs that are practically recession proof.
Medical Field. Anywhere in the medical field pretty much gives you a sure place in the job secure area of working. People are always going to get sick or hurt, and that means that you are always going to have a job. Even if people don't have the money, they will still need to come see you, and their insurance will pay for it.
Education. Once again, even if people are poor, they are still going to have to send their children to school. Elementary school is extremely important for children, and their parents are definitely going to continue to send their kids to school no matter what. If you enjoy teaching and you want to help the future generations to succeed, then going into the education field is definitely going to be a good one to go into.
Military. Any type of government funded job is pretty set even in a financial crisis. Although this isn't the type of job that you have to go to school for, it's definitely a secure one because there is always going to be room for growth in the military. The U.S. would never start firing people in the military just because of lack of money because that could mean potential danger in the future.
Funerals. Just like how in the medical field people are always going to get sick, the same goes with funerals in that people are always going to die. As sad and morbid as it is, there is no way in stopping people from dying, and that means that you will always be making money no matter how little money people actually have. People have to use funeral homes to take care of the dead, so you will always have a very secure job.
