The popular country duo Sugarland, comprised of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, recently jammed at Kansas City's Sprint Center and, as predicted, they brought the audience members to their feet. Sugarland's songs have that unmistakable country twang, but they also have the energy of pop ballads. Fans roared along to beats like "Settlin'," Want To" and "It Happens" during the set that continued for a full 85 minutes.
Sugarland has found success with several albums already and their fourth CD is due out this October. The show at the Sprint Center featured a sampling of several new tracks from the album, slated to be called The Incredible Machine. Sugarland has been pleasing adoring crowds for some time now and their recent gig was surely a reflection of their success. Be sure to see Nettles and Bush jam live on a stage near you. Sugarland opened up the concert season at the Toyota Pavilion in Scranton earlier in the month when they played before a packed crowd. A review of the performance on thetimes-tribune.com noted, "If the other acts who are scheduled to take the Montage stage this summer can match Sugarland's performance, Scranton area concertgoers are in for a great season."
Sugarland wasn't always playing to crowded stadiums, but they certainly got off to a good start when they released their debut album Twice the Speed of Life in 2004. At that time Sugarland was comprised of three artists, with Kristen Hall also on board. The three musicians let loose an expertly crafted record, featuring songs like "Something More," "Tennessee" and "Small Town Jericho." The album was a success, and soon enough Sugarland was a name that everyone in the music industry came to know and respect.
Although Kristen Hall did not stick around after the release of the first album, Sugarland still thrived as a duo. Nettles and Bush issued their sophomore effort Enjoy the Ride to rave reviews and the band made some headway into the pop music territory as well. Notable tracks on this release included "Everyday America," "Want To" and "One Blue Sky."
In 2008, Sugarland gave their fans another sweet treat with the release of Love on the Inside. The celebrated album gave the band three chart-topping singles as well as Grammy Awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Performance. Fans were instantly drawn to tracks like "Joey," "Love" and "Take Me as I Am."
Now that Sugarland is preparing for the release of their fourth studio album, they need no introduction. Come October, fans will be introduced to a whole new set of tracks and Sugarland can add more singles to their already expansive catalog.
