Breast Enlargement And The Bra

There are many different types of bras available on the lingerie market today and some can even help with breast enlargement. The word "bra" is short for the longer term "brassiere" which was derived from a French word meaning "bodice."

Believe it or not, the original bras were meant to restrain the busts rather than enlarge them however, the modern version of this lingerie item has been around for over one hundred years, since the early 1900's.

In the 1950's, the breasts began to become more heavily supported by this device when an undergarment version with lift came on the scene. The original name for these garments was "Balconette brassiere" and was designed in the U.S. during the late 1930's. By the fifties, this item was quite popular and worn by many women.

Padded bras eventually became popular when women discovered how much sexier they could appear by padding the inside of their brassieres. For many years, women had been stuffing their bosoms with tissues, cotton and even socks.

Falsies are separate pads which can be inserted into garments or lingerie when necessary. A more modern version of the falsie is an item known as the water bra or gel bra. These have water or silicone gel cups sewn in to enlarge the bosoms. Air bras are similar but filled with air.

Push up and underwire are other tactics to have surgery-free bigger boobs. The push up device held padding in the lower portion of the undergarment, causing the breast tissue to rise up into cleavage and a larger size. Underwire offered a stiff structure of lift, as well.

If a woman wants to have a more permanent solution, enlargement can be achieved by augmentation with an implant. In this operation, a cosmetic surgeon would insert a medical device called an implant into the woman's chest via an incision below the breast, near the nipple or via the armpit or naval.

These devices are filled with either silicone or a saline solution and they come in a variety of sizes, shapes and textures.

Another medical intervention would be a fat transfer. This is achieved by moving adipose tissue from the abdomen or thighs via liposuction, purifying it and then injecting it into the breasts to create a fuller look.

Liposuction is a method of vacuuming fat from the body with a slender tool called a cannula. The cannula is inserted into the fatty deposits through tiny incisions.

Fat transfer can be a natural method of moving curves around one's body, but there are mixed opinions about its permanency as it tends to reabsorb.

Breast enlargement, whether by surgery or bra, can add curve appeal and sexiness to a woman's physique.
