Brad Paisley is one of many to have lost nearly everything in the recent Nashville flooding that will cost country music's capital nearly $2 billion to repair. On the heels of his H20 World Tour, Paisley was forced to cancel initial tour rehearsals after he learned that his storage facility where all his guitars, amps, cases and more were submerged in four feet of water. Yet he kept it all together and in a new special op-ed for Billboard revealed how he managed to stay so calm in the wake of disaster.

"As Nashville started to dry, something beautiful began to happen," Paisley wrote in May following the state's biggest natural disaster to date. "Volunteers, youth groups and churches flooded streets just like the Harpeth and Cumberland Rivers had only hours before. There wasn't any looting to speak of, no anger even."

Instead, he recalls, everyone banded together to revive the community so many musicians have called home. Paisley, along with Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and more, began working out ways to get the city back on track. He's still doing that, as Brad Paisley tickets are available online.

"As I write this, I'm just exhausted. We begin rehearsals tomorrow [May 15], 10 days late. However, in a strange way, I know someday this is going to be one of my fondest memories of touring," he added. Since then, Paisley has been on the road delivering hit songs to fans just like he has done for the past few decades. And he has not stopped advocating for the flood relief effort, asking for support from fans and volunteering his time during telethons or special concert events.

Paisley returns from a short stint in the UK early July and will hit cities like Austin, Texas; Chicago, Ill.; Cleveland, Ohio and others for the remainder of the summer. Oddly enough, his current single and tour opener is "Water," a classic Paisley number that details his passion for the liquid that inspired his tour title. Yet it was also water that made touring this summer so difficult, as Paisley's team was forced to pick up all new equipment for the tour that opened three weeks ago.

"You have no idea what we went through to get here tonight!" yelled the father of two to the sold-out Virginia Beach crowd. "Every member of my team made this [show] a reality and I am so proud of them."

Paisley first debuted his country material on the WWVA's Saturday night program "Jamboree USA," which led to opening slots for the Judds, Roy Clark and Little Jimmy Dickens. He worked as both a songwriter and performer in Nashville and released his Arista solo debut in 1999. With hits like "We Danced" and "He Didn't Have to Be," Paisley was an instant crowd favorite, which led the way to collaborations and the sophomore Part II. The 2001 album featured some of his strongest hits in "Two People Fell in Love" and "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)." He has continued to see success because of his strong song lyrics and remarkable guitar skills.
