Considering that Chrysler are one of the most popular car manufacturers in America (as well as being the company that owns two other major American car brands - Dodge and Jeep), it is surprising for most Americans to hear that Chrysler dealers have only becoming increasingly apparent in the UK in recent years.

Whilst Chrysler dealers may be more noticeable around the country and more and more Chrysler cars can be seen on the roads, they are still not by any means a popular car manufacturer in the country.

If you haven't heard of Chrysler - or only know of them as an American car brand - take a look at the following models that that you are likely to see for sale on the UK market.

1. PT Cruiser - arguably the most popular model to enter Chrysler dealers in the UK, the PT Cruiser was first produced in 2001 and sold with a 2.4 litre petrol engine (although there are two other variants that are available, a Turbocharged version and a Turbocharged HO version).

Known for its distinct looks - the PT Cruiser is regarded by Chrysler as being an updated version of their popular Airflow model that was produced in America for 3 years from 1934 to 1937 - it may not be the norm in terms of car aesthetics, but it without doubt meets the needs of most small families.

2. 300C - Appearing to have taken a certain amount of its looks from a traditional Bentley, the 300C is elegant, refined and somewhat aristocratic-looking. Featuring hard design lines, an overly large grille and sold with the tag line 'for those who aspire, the 300C draws heads wherever it is seen.

Available in 6 different models (the most notable of which is the SRT-8 Saloon, which comes with a 6.1 V8 engine), prices start at 26,995 pounds, which is for the standard 3 litre V6 CRD SE Saloon version.

3. Grand Voyager - aimed at the family market, the Grand Voyager was discontinued in America after almost 20 years of production in 2007, but it is still being manufactured for the UK in 2010.

Providing a combination of space, luxury and efficiency - it is reputed that the Grand Voyager can return a combined 30 MPG, which is respectable considering its size and the fact that it has a 2.8 litre engine and automatic transmission - this Chrysler model features a fantastic specification, even on the basic model, including the fantastic uconnect entertainment and communication system.

A hit with families throughout the country, the Grand Voyager is priced at 26,995 pounds for the standard 2.8 CRD LX diesel version and increases to 35,495 pounds for the 3.8 V6 limited petrol automatic.

Chrysler may be a brand that isn't particularly well known in the UK, but their line up of cars is definitely worth taking a look at. Whether it's brand new or second hand, the 434,731 people who have already bought a Chrysler in America already this year all can't have made a bad decision with their choice of car.
