Discover Better Safety Through Non Slip Coatings

An important part of providing a safe place for employees and customers is non slip coating on floors and other slick surfaces. While safety regulations do not require non slip coating on all surfaces, the cost of installing this type of coating makes it a good idea versus the cost of a lawsuit for negligence that could happen if someone slipped and fell. Providing a safe work environment makes for happier employees. In some industrial settings, it is literally life and death if a floor becomes slick at the wrong time.

If the floor becomes unsafe in a metal foundry, a person could become fatally burned. In a meat processing plant, a slick floor is almost inevitable without proper planning, and must be prevented for the safety of the employees. The price of providing safety is small compared to the cost of dangerous working conditions. A non slip surface can provide extra traction when a floor or other surface has become wet or otherwise slick. Many different substances can cause slick floors, not all of them wet. Powders and fats can cause floors to become very slick and cause issues.

While safety is important in the workplace and commercial enterprises, it is vital in residential areas. The second largest cause of death in the home is from slip and fall accidents. Sadly there is diminished awareness of the seriousness of falls. This was demonstrated by the recent death of a small celebrity who slipped in his residence and later died from his injuries. When a fall occurs in the bathroom, there are a number of surfaces that can cause life-threatening injuries. Any hard surfaces, like tile, porcelain, towel racks, toilets, cabinets, shower and bath fixtures can all cause potential bruises, fractures or bleeding.

Most of the danger in these surfaces can be minimized through preparation or taking precautions. Sometimes the people that are most susceptible to the injuries that can be sustained in these kind of slips and falls are oblivious to the danger. Small children and the elderly can die or suffer fatal injuries much easier than most adults. These risk groups also take less thought before doing something that can be potentially reckless. Think about any small child playing in the bathtub. Even with full adult supervision, they will try to slip and slide all over the tub. This can lead to problems with a child or elderly adult getting out of the bathtub as well.
Author Resource:- PosiGrip (http://www.posigrip.com/) Our non slip coating is not a coating that can wear off, but a process that creates a tread design on the mineral surface itself. There is no discernible change in appearance.
