One of the rough aspects of the music world is that sometimes when an artist finally makes it big, he or she moves on and forgets the fans that put him/her on the top. Country up-and-comer Luke Bryan is determined not to do that, and in fact strives to do the exact opposite. He spoke to The Boot about his love for his fan base and said, "Obviously fans are the beginning and end for any artist. The minute your fans embrace you and accept you, you begin this ride of being in music and having a career doing something you love." He continued to say, "It's an honor to have these fans and to watch them spend their hard-earned money to come to my shows and buy my records."
Luke Bryan doesn't just talk the talk, evidenced by how he conducts his tour dates. He says that he makes sure that he is available to meet fans at every single show, an accessibility that many country stars give up after they hit it big. Through a text message system during his shows, he also offers dozens of lucky fans a chance to do a meet-and-greet after the show. He prides himself on signing autographs for all fans who ask, from the ones outside of his bus to fans in the audience after the show. Bryan has plenty of reasons to celebrate, not the least of which being his recent wins at the Academy of Country Music Awards. He took home the awards for both the Top New Solo Vocalist of the Year and Top New Artist. The ACM Awards show took place on April 18 in Las Vegas. According to his website, Luke Bryan had some special people with him for the awards show. He said on the site, "My whole family came along to Vegas to see me perform on the show and to be my lucky charms. We've worked hard for several years to get to this point and I'm glad for the wait, it tastes sweeter." His family is about to be even bigger, as his wife Caroline is pregnant with the couple's second child.
On June 9, Bryan has a chance to take home another award at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville. Bryan is nominated in the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year category for the video for his single "Do I." He will have to beat out "Boots On" by Randy Houser, "A Little More Country Than That" by Easton Corbin, "Gettin' You Home" by Chris Young, "Giddy on Up" by Laura Bell Bundy, "Keep on Lovin' You" by Steel Magnolia, "Small Town USA" by Justin Moore and "The Weary Kind" by Ryan Bingham. Bryan's successful run on the charts is continuing with the release of his single "Rain Is a Good Thing" off his album Doin' My Thing.
