Opt-in pages or squeeze pages are very important in the construction of a website. They are very important when it comes to building your list. Building your list is one of, if not the, most important item to ensure you online success. All opt-in pages are designed for one reason and one reason only - capture names and email address of everyone that visits your website or blog.

The opt-in page is really the key to your online success. A high converting opt-in can bring you in thousands of dollar a month, just from one single email. Your opt-in form should be prominent on your website or blog. It must be visually attractive with quality graphics and it must provide something of value to those that are considering giving you their name and email address. You can offer them a free report or a product that you have giveaway rights to. You can also offer them a free video or audio training file, a 7 - 10 day eCourse, or anything that will entice them to sign up to your list. The better your offer, the higher your opt-in percentage will be.

Whatever you offer, it must be relevant to the type of website or blog that you place the opt-in form on. It does you no good to have an opt-in form that provides information on Golf if you are promoting health products.

Virtually every visitor to your site is a prospective list member and life long customer. On average, every one of your visitors are in search of some free information that will help them with a problem or a question. If you provide them a protion of the information they are seeking, they will give you their name and email address in anticipation of getting better and more in-depth information.

The headline of the opt-in page should be considered as the most important aspect of your opt-in page. If your heading doesn't grab their attention, they won't bother to take the time to view what you are offering them. Think of your heading as the beginning of a newspaper article. The heading is the attention grabber. If you like the heading on a news article, you will take the time to read it. If the heading of your opt-in or opt-in page doesn't catch your visitors attention, well, you know the rest.

The sub headline or bye line is also very important for opt-in pages. After you have captured their interest with your heading, this is the section that provides them with important additional information, possibly something they didn't know about the subject, or a way to help them understand the subject.

The body of the opt-in page should be written in an impressive manner. The body text should be properly spaced. In addition, the limit of one sentence equaling one paragraph should be no more then three to four lines in length. If you take the time to review other successful opt-in pages on internet then you will notice that they contain very little text. However, the text you read, explodes with benefits and information that visitors are seeking.

If you really want to make an impression, instead of paragraphs, use bullet statements to grab their attention. You can still use the same text, but, because it is in bullet format, it will almost jump off the page as your visitor views it.
