For the last few months, two Taylor Swift fans have been hell-bent on their quest to get a hug from the country star, even creating a website called ahugfromtaylorswift.com. Their names are Ryan Leander and Michael Wekall, and Swift soon caught on to their quest. To test their devotion, Swift challenged them to do good deeds. They took the challenge as a mission, and not only did their own good deeds, but they got others involved as well. Swift then issued them challenge number two, which was to do more good deeds while incorporating her favorite number, 13. They did just that, and delivered an impressive video montage.

They must have impressed Swift, as she decided to make an appearance at Auburn University at a karaoke session the two had organized on campus. Taylor Swift showed how far she had gotten into the fun, showing up wearing a t-shirt that read "A Hug from Mike and Ryan." She also gave the two determined young men their well-deserved hugs. The students in attendance were then treated to an intimate mini-concert. Considering Swift is now used to playing packed stadiums, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a group of Taylor Swift fans.

Taylor Swift has been an awards show darling since she emerged on the country music scene, but she surprisingly walked away from the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards empty handed, despite multiple nominations. She didn't let the snub get to her, though, and came to Auburn right after for the ACM tribute show to the retiring duo Brooks & Dunn. She was joined by stars like Kenny Chesney, George Strait and Carrie Underwood for the performance. The special will air on CBS on May 23.

Even with all of her success, Taylor Swift has been able to remain down to earth, which is why she has one of the most loyal and adoring fan bases in the music world. She showed her "normal" side in a recent interview with Vogue, which appeared in the May 2010 issue of the magazine. She reflected, "Looking back on what these past two years have been for me, it feels like this magical dream of, Really? We toured all over the world? We played an arena in London? This is happening? Readjusting my goals and dreams has been something I've had to do a lot lately."

The future looks promising for Swift, both professionally and personally. After being linked with Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Lautner of Twilight fame (and her Valentine's Day costar), Swift's love life is always the subject of media speculation. The latest rumor has her connected with Glee star Cory Monteith. They rubbed elbows like celebrities do (at a Grammy Awards after party, according to MTV.com) as well as like a normal young couple (by going bowling together), but Monteith has so far said Swift is just a "great friend." She may also be able to extend her acting career, as The Seven Rays author Jessica Bendinger revealed in an interview with IESB.net that she could see Taylor Swift playing the lead in the film version of the hit book.
