He may be almost 70 years old, but that hasn't stopped former Beatle Ringo Starr from keeping fans on their toes. Though the beloved English group broke up decades ago because of internal problems, it seems that in their older ages, the remaining Beatles have decided to forget the past and live in the present.

Such was the case when Starr invited the only other remaining Beatle, Paul McCartney, to partner with his new John Lennon tribute song "Peace Dream," a staple in Starr's latest album Y Not. The track became a collaborative effort in a mere minute following McCartney's listen. As the most prolific Beatle, though likewise the most reviled, Ringo Starr tickets continue to sell online.

The aptly named album is in response to constant critic speculation. As he says to Telegraph, "Every time I make a record, people ask, 'Why are you making another record?' I say, 'Why not?'" The result is Starr's 15th solo effort, which appeared in early 2010 and led with the second McCartney collaboration, "Walk with You." Supporting the follow up to 2008's Liverpool 8 with a summer tour through August, Starr will venture through North American stadiums and arenas in Boston, Atlanta, New York, Cleveland, San Diego, Los Angeles and more.

The 30-city jaunt will feature his All Starr Band comprised of guitarist Rick Derringer, bassist Richard Page, guitarist Wally Palmar, keyboardist/saxophonist Edgar Winter, keyboardist Gary Wright and drummer Gregg Bissonette. Touring constantly with his All Starr Band, the 10th and current ensemble was formed in 2008 and has been Starr's touring companion since.

Like all of his records, he's proud of the work he's accomplished. Y Not originally started as a solo project in his Los Angeles home. Starr worked on material by way of a home economics project of sorts with synthesizers and drums. Eventually a few friends came on board, with McCartney easily stepping in (complete with bass) for "Peace Mind" and "Walk with You."

Starr might not have been the most popular Beatle, but he surely has made up for that since the mop-tops split in 1970. He is only one of two members left from the four piece, the group formed in 1962 and with hard work and dedication became the most successful acts in popular history. He gained a name for himself early on as an occasional actor and solo musician, an outlet he turned to even during the Beatles most successful years because, as he says, "I had nothing to do." Though the famous drummer stayed through during the early '70s amidst the infamous squabbling, following the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Let it Be it was clear there was nothing left.

Starr began releasing material almost simultaneously with the split, with his debut Sentimental Journey and Beaucoups of Blues. Each showed that Starr's musical preferences went far beyond the pop musical standards of the Beatles sets, as the first covered pre-rock standards and the latter featured country. While he claims "medications" spurred a "downhill" in his records following rehab, his work improved -and his collaborations with the All Starr Band came to fruition.
