Just months after James Taylor and Carole King when back in time to celebrate forty years since their first performance at the Troubadour, the musical collaboration tour celebrated donations totaling more than $1.5 million. The announcement and monetary presentation came during their late June show at Boston's TD Garden, marking the halfway point for their "Troubadour Reunion" tour.

The donations presented to the Natural Resources Defense Council, Alliance for the Wild Rockies and others were raised through fan packages that include stage seating, pre-show soundcheck sessions, VIP receptions and a tour booklet. Are you interested in supporting charity while also getting a great concert? Check out James Taylor tickets now for his work on the Troubadour Reunion tour with Carole King.

The duo, who reunited for the first time at Hollywood's infamous Troubadour venue in 2007, marked their return not only with a reunion tour but a simultaneous DVD release from their 2007 performance. The May release honored the Troubadour's 50 years on Santa Monica Boulevard and reunited the old friends who hadn't performed on that stage since 1971. Taylor and King first met in West Hollywood, California in 1970 just as Taylor was supporting his debut release for the Beatles' Apple Records and King was working out a solo career. Nearly four decades later the musicians returned with the original band "The Section" (Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar and Russell Kunkel) for an anniversary bash. Those 15 songs were not only captured on video and recorded, but also inspired the current world tour.

The 60 date tour opened in Melbourne, Australia in late March before returning to the States in May. The show, as Taylor wrote in the album liner notes, is performed as if no time has gone by since. "When we reunited for the Troubadour's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2007, it felt like yesterday. It was, and still is, all about the music and the celebration of performing together," he said. The album and tour set list includes some of the group's most classic singles like "So Far Away," "Carolina in my Mind," "Fire and Rain," "Sweet Baby James," "You've Got a Friend" and "It's Too Late."

Just as Taylor marks a reunion with King he'll see another reunion of sorts when Apple Records, the label that distributed his 1968 debut James Taylor, re-released a remastered version. Along with several other label mates like Billy Preston and Badfinger, the albums will appear in October, reports Entertainment Weekly. This is the first time all 15 titles will be released digitally and will once again set Apple Records' label apart from the rest.

In 1968 when the artist-oriented label rallied for Beatles support, Taylor recorded the track "Carolina in my Mind" with Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Since that debut Taylor has remained at the forefront of the singer/ songwriter revolution. Despite his bumpy start, in the four decades since his Apple release Taylor has sold 40 million albums, received more than 40 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards and picked up five Grammy Awards.
