Safety precautions for natural disasters can include things like trimming trees too close to the house in areas with high fire danger, and retrofitting older homes to withstand potential earthquakes. No building can withstand everything that might be thrown at it, but you can make some provisions for the more likely events.
Home security means more than just keeping yourself and your possessions safe. It means feeling safe in your house, and it's something we all like to have. But it's important not to get too caught up in safety-- it does no good to worry constantly. So take reasonable precautions, and try not to dwell on it.
