Cleaning a car can be a lot harder than it looks. If you do not clean your car properly you can be doing more damage than help.

When you are cleaning your car you should make sure you start from the top and work your way to the bottom. A lot of people find it most beneficial to start in the inside of their car.

If you start in the inside of your car you will be much more likely to keep the inside of your car clean. When you start on the outside you may get your wet dirty shoes on the inside of your car while you are trying to clean it.

You will also be better able to clean the outside of your windows when the inside of the window is clean. Although many people clean their cars this way you may want to start on the outside and work your way in.

No matter if you start on the inside of the outside you should always start from the top and work your way down. This will ensure that gravity will be working with you instead of against you.

If you clean from the bottom you are going to have to re-clean the bottom of your car multiple times. Do not let yourself get into that position you will get frustrated with your car very quickly.

After you have planned how you are going to clean your car you have to make sure that you have the correct cleaning supplies. If you do not clean with the correct supplies you could permanently damage your car.

You do not want to scrub your car with anything that will scratch the paint. You need something that will be coarse enough to get the dirt off but soft enough to not damage your car.

If you do not already have something to scrub your car with you may be able to find something at a local supermarket. If your supermarket has an automobile section they will more than likely have some cleaning tools.

If you are looking to invest in some nicer cleaning tools you may want to start shopping at the automobile specialty shops. There may be a lot of different items to choose form so do not be afraid to ask the man or woman that is working in the shop for some help.

Then you have to make sure you know what cleaners you are going to use to clean. Make sure that whatever cleaners you use were made specifically for cleaning cars.

You will deeply regret putting something on your car that was not made for cars if it does permanent damage. Although the car cleaner may be a bit more expensive than regular cleaners they will be much less expensive than fixing your car.

Do not ever use dish soap on the exterior of your car. It is very tempting for some people to just squirt some Dawn onto their car and start scrubbing.

If you do this, there is a very good chance that you will end up stripping paint off of your car. Having a dirty car is much better than having a car that is missing chunks of paint.

After you have found your cleaning solution make sure that you have two buckets full of warm water. You are going to want one bucket for rinsing and one bucket for washing.

You should not continue to put your washing rag back into the dirty water. The more that you do this the more you will be perpetuating the dirtiness of the car.

As soon as whatever you are cleaning with gets dirty you should rinse it off the best you can. This way you will not be scratching the surface of your car with the grains of dirt that are there.

You should always start by pre-rinsing your car to get as much dirt off of your car as possible. After you are done scrubbing off all of the dirt make sure you thoroughly rinse your car to get all of the soap suds off.

If you are planning on waxing your car you will want to make sure that you dry your car thoroughly before starting the waxing process. If you do not dry your car all the way the wax will not be able to stick on your car.

Cleaning your car is a great feeling. Whether you decide to do it once a month, once a week or once a year make sure that you take the time to do it.
